Ernst, Dorothy "Dot" Dorothy "Dot" Ernst, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2006. She was born on June 26, 1914, to William and Katherine (Gehrman) Mollon in Appleton, Wisconsin. On January 6, 1940, she married Bernard Ernst. Dorothy worked at Gloudeman's for over 30 years until they closed. She loved the Packers and other sports including NASCAR and motorcycle racing. Dorothy also enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She and her husband traveled to nearly all fifty states together. Dorothy was involved with motorcycle, dance, bowling, and birthday clubs. She was always very concerned about her niece, Laurie Depies, who has been missing for the past 14 years. Dorothy will be missed by many friends and relatives.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bernard; brother, Harold (Vera) Mollon; nephew, Jim (Linda) Mollon and their son Brady; nephew, Michael (Mary) Mollon and their children Kate (Mike) Merryfield and Eric; nephew, Bob Fischer (Dean) of Phoenix, Arizona and their seven children; niece, Tracy (Scott) Baster and their sons Bryce and Brandon; niece, Patricia Baldwin and her daughter Nandi; niece, Joyce (Charlie) Fisher and their children Louis (Marissa) and their daughter, Natalie; Lucy, Lindsey, and Lucas Fisher; niece, Suzanne (Jack) Welhouse and their children Jacob, Anna, and Ruth; niece, Joyce Williams of Dayton, Ohio and her four sons; niece, Mary (Andy) Wegner of Winneconne and her two daughters Laurie Depies and Julie (Dan) Kinart and their son Ethan; a sister-in-law, Jane Fischer; and many cousins and extended family.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Katherine; a brother, William (Bea); and a sister, Mary (Ray) Martin.
A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006, at 12:30 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home with Fr. Michael O'Rourke presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Dorothy's family would like to extend a special thank you to neighbors, Ben and Jude Bavinck, and Jerry Schneider for their help in caring for Dorothy and Bernard thus allowing them to live in their own home for a longer time. Also a thank you to Renaissance Assisted Living and Franciscan Health Care Center for their compassion.
