Van Hoof, Walter, J. Walter J. Van Hoof, 92, Freedom, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, March 7, 2006, at the Parkside Care Center, Little Chute. He was the son of the late Matthew and Anna (Romenesko) Van Hoof, born September 8, 1913, in Freedom. He married Dorothy "Dode" Murphy in 1932 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. She preceded him in death on August 22, 1968. Wally married Rosella Burgoyne in 1972. He was a painter for over 50 years, owning his own business. He painted barns all over the state of Wisconsin. Wally loved to play cards, square dance, and he loved traveling. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife, Rosella; three sons and daughters-in-law: Bob (Irene) Van Hoof, Jim (Janet) Van Hoof, Gary (Sue) Van Hoof; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane Witter and Shirley (Orville) Evers; he is further survived by his two stepdaughters, Delores (Ken) Van De Hei, and Linda Smits; a stepson, Dan (Judy) Burgoyne; also 24 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ken Van Hoof, a sister, Marie Kamps; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Aaron; a brother, Clarence; a sister, Ev; and his son-in-law, Amil Witter. Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour on Friday, March 10, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m.; with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the funeral home after 9 a.m. until the cortege proceeds to the church at 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom at 11 a.m., with Father Bob Vandenberg celebrating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. The Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Parkside Care Center for their wonderful care given to Wally.
