      Stark, Eugene J. Eugene J. Stark of Kaukauna, formerly of West Bend, died on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at St. Paul Elder Home in Kaukauna at the age of 89 years. He was born on March 19, 1917, in Appleton to the late Joseph and Laura (nee Rusch) Stark.

      On September 27, 1941, he was united in marriage to Beatrice C. Landwehr in Isaar, WI.

      During World War II, Eugene served with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater. Following his discharge in 1945, he returned to the Appleton area. He then became employed with the National Food Store as a manager. In 1950, the family moved to West Bend. In 1960, he started working as an insurance agent with Prudential Insurance, retiring in 1979.

      In August 2005, the couple moved to Kaukauna.

      Eugene was a member of the Fred A. Schaefer Post #1393 VFW.

      Survivors include his wife, Beatrice; five sons: Ronald (Joanne) of Edinboro, PA; James (Cindy) of Superior; Richard (Marcy) of Lake Ridge, VA; Robert of Slinger; and Terry of Madison; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Alice Fermanich of Appleton and Myrtle (Gene) Prisco of Pelham Manor, NY; a brother-in-law, John (Marilyn) Landwehr of Appleton; other relatives and friends.

      He was preceded in death by a sister in infancy and a half-sister, Sylvia Stark.

      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 20, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. 8th Ave., West Bend, with Fr. Gerald Brittain presiding. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church only on Monday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.

      The family has requested memorials to the Holy Angels School Trust Fund or the Holy Angels Building Fund.
