Clarence Romanesko 45, DePere, native of Freedom, collapsed and died at work late Tuesday afternoon at the Reiss Coal Co. docks at Green Bay. He had suffered from a heart condition for several years and doctors said that was the cause of his death. Born in Freedom March 12th, 1919, Romanesko lived in the town of Allouez before making his home in DePere four years ago. He was a retail foreman for the Reiss firm and had worked 25 years for its predecessor, the Cleveland Cliff Coal company. Funeral services will be at 9:00 Friday morning at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, DePere, with burial in St. Nicholas cemetery, Freedom. The rosary will be recited at 8:00 tonight and Thursday night at the Ryan funeral home, DePere, where friends may call after 7:00 tonight. Survivors include his wife, Marie, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Romanesko, Freedom; four children, Betty, Judy, William and Jerry, all at home; three brothers, Walter, of Kimberly, Joseph, of Stevensville, and Elmer, of Freedom; and four sisters, Mrs. Verona Peters, Little Chute, Mrs. Al Sonnleitner, the state of Oregon, Mrs. Ray Kempen, and Mrs. John Gonnering, Kaukauna.
