    • 2003 Appleton Post Crescent dated 12/8/2003; Romenesko, Joseph H., Little Chute Age 96, died Saturday, December 6, 2003 with his family at his side, at Parkside Care Center, Little Chute. Joseph was born December 4, 1907, son of the late Hank and Mary (Conrad) Romenesko. He married Barbara Verkuilen September 8, 1931, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. She preceded him in death August 22, 1985. Joseph was head fireman for 38 years at Combined Locks Paper, until his retirement in 1970. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and just meeting people. Joseph also enjoyed helping out his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren. He is survived by 7 children: William (Celine), Darboy; Maynard (Roseanne), Combined Locks; Wesley, Kaukauna; Daniel (Geraldine), Little Chute; Gary (Adele), Little Chute; Betty (Matt) Hupfer, West Bend; Pat (Roger) Hermsen, New London; a sister, Stella Sanders and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Verkuilen. Joseph is further survived by 31 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters: Walter (Mabel), Len (Gerry), Wenzel (Marella) and Catherine Romenesko; Margaret (Arnold Vanden Boogart-John Vanden Heuvel), Mary Ann (Arnold) Van Asten and Lloyd Sanders; a daughter-in-law, Aggie Romenesko; a brother-in-law, John Verkuilen and a sister-in-law, Martha (Erv) Borree. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly, with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Jennifer O’Connell with Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside Care Center and Pioneer Village, especially Ron Smith, John Schuetze and Phil Atkin, for their care and support.
