- Georgiana Josephine Baum, age 88, died peacefully on Tuesday morning November 12, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
Georgiana was born November 30, 1924 in Mackville the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Hoffman) Fischer. Georgiana attended St. Edward's grade school and St. Mary's High School Menasha. She was united in marriage to Raymond A. Baum on October 23, 1945 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville. She was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Most important to Georgiana was caring for her family. Georgiana was an avid vegetable gardener and enjoyed fishing at the cottage and playing cards.
Georgiana is survived by her loving husband, Raymond of 68 years; their children, Georgiana (Dennis) Gauerke, Hortonville; Joseph (Sandy) Baum, New Berlin; Marilyn (David) Whiteside, Pueblo, CO; Nicholas (Kathy) Baum, Appleton; and Patricia (Lee) Bishop, Appleton; 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Peter, her parents, 3 sisters, Marie Harteloo, Matilda Van Domelen, and Valeria Gloudemans, two brothers, Wilbert and Benedict.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Saturday, November 16, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette Street, Appleton, with the Rev. William Van Dynhoven officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Georgiana's family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
