    • Mrs. Anna Ristau, wife of Charles Ristau, aged 37 years, died Friday evening, November 18, at ten o’clock, from heart trouble, at her home on Depot street.

Mrs. Ristau’s last sickness dated from about five weeks ago when her physician prescribed out door air for her and she had been taken out riding daily until she had to desist and remain in bed. Her disease gradually grew worse until the final end came in unconsciousness and death.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Miss Anna Adrians, was born in the town of Freedom and having resided in this immediate vicinity all her life was widely acquainted within the city and the neighboring town districts where hosts of friends mourn her death and deeply sympathize with the bereaved husband and children in this sad hour of affliction. She was a thorough Christian wife and mother, a devout member of the Catholic church, and in the family circle where her pleasant nature was a joy and comfort to the household, her loss is irretrievable. She was married here in Kaukauna to Charles Ristau, August 14, 1888, and has ever since resided in this city where all their large family of children have been born. Surviving are her husband and eight children, her mother in Colby, three sisters and two brothers. The children are: Alma, Lillian, Evaline, Bernice, Charles, Leroy, Gordon and Lucille. Her sisters are Mrs. Henry Edar and Mrs. Minnie Childs of Colby, and Mrs. Julius Wolf of Ashland. The brothers are Nic Adrians of Appleton, and Peter Adrians of Colby.

The funeral obsequies of Mrs. Ristau were held at Holy Cross church Monday morning at 9:00 o’clock and the tribute to her memory was attested by the large concourse of friends and relatives which filled that large edifice to the doors. Rev. Father Rohde administered the last sad rites of the church and she was laid at rest in Holy Cross cemetery.

The pall bearers were Herman Runte, Daniel Reardon, Peter Eimmerman, Theodore Schmalz, Peter Helf and Louis Vanevenhoven.

Among those who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Henry Edar, Mrs. M. Childs, Peter Adrians and son John of Colby; Nic Miller, the Misses Mae, Minnie and Matt Juley of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Nic Adrians, Mr. and Mrs. Con. Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Stenacre, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zittlow, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Schmidt, Wrightstown; Mrs. Frederick Kuehn of Ripon; James Garvey and wife and William Hoebe and wife of Freedom; John Hoebe and wife of Little Chute; William Luska and wife, Sniderville; and Mr. and Mrs. Gus. Ristau of Sherwood.
