Photos | Obituary Mary Pat Van Wychen, 69, passed away with family by her side on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. The daughter of Willard and Patricia (Dietzler) Betters, she was born on December 15, 1952. Mary Pat was employed at Appleton Paper Combined Locks as a millwright for many years until her retirement. She married Tom Van Wychen and they spent many loving years together until his passing in 2012. In her spare time, Mary Pat loved to read books and she also had a deep love for animals whether it was her cats or the animals who visited her back yard. She also had a love for world history. Mary Pat is survived by her siblings: Roy (Linda) Betters, Bill (Jackie) Betters, Joe (Cindy) Betters, and Heidi (Dan) Rowe; nieces and nephews: Ryan (Kelli) Betters, Rebecca (Alex) Nettekoven, Brooke Betters, Brady Betters, Ben Betters, Sam Betters, Alicia Betters, Jessica (Cody) Getschel, Holly Dercks, and Jeremy Dercks; and Tom’s children: Judy, Sue, Shari, and Michael Van Wychen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tom. A prayer service for Mary Pat will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue until the time of the service.
