Van Gomple, Marijo Marijo Van Gomple went into the waiting arms of her Heavenly Father Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Cherry Meadows Hospice, after a courageous struggle with cancer and stroke the past eight years. Marijo was born July 14, 1950, in the Town of VandenBroeck. She was the youngest daughter of the late George and Josephine Van Zeeland. Marijo married Gary Van Gomple, August 22, 1970, at Holy Name Church in Kimberly.

Marijo worked many years at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a Medical Records Transcriber and Coder. She was also a Dental Assistant. Prior to her illness she was very involved in her church with Home Care Groups, teaching Water Baptism, Choir and Prayer Ministry. She blessed many by sending encouragement cards at just the right time as the Lord prompted her. Her goal was to be a Visitation Pastor.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Gary; two sons: Andy (Laurin), St. Paul, MN; Ryan (Megan), Hartford, CT; three sisters: Imelda (George) Zelinski, Grandbury, TX; Janice (Donald) Gloudemans, Kimberly; and Sharon (David) Guerden, Winneconne; two brothers: Jerry (Janice) Van Zeeland, Kimberly; Melvin Van Zeeland, Colony Oaks, Kimberly; a sister-in-law, Lola (Larry) Dorn; a brother-in-law, Richard (Kathy) Van Gomple; and other in-laws; two step grandchildren, April and Isaiah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Marijo was preceded in death by her mother and father; two infant sisters, Sharon and Karen; and a niece, Linda Van Offeren, who was like a sister to her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fox Valley Christian Fellowship, 1200 W. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, on Monday, June 19th at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Steve Nickel officiating. A reception will follow the service. Marijo loved the color purple, so we ask you to join us in your purple best.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.

Words can't express the loving care at Cherry Meadows Hospice. A special thanks to Theda Care Hospice Chaplain Jordan and the staff at Cherry Meadows.
