    Leland C. Peeters, age 90, of Navarino passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024 at The Pines Nursing Home in Embarrass. He was born on October 21, 1933 to the late John and Marjorie (Stilen) Peeters.

    He was united in marriage to Monica Young on April 8, 1953 in Bear Creek. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2000. They farmed together for 45 years in Navarino.

    Leland was a longtime member of the Shawano Farm Bureau and participated in many pony pulls throughout the area. He also enjoyed going out to dance and playing cards.

    He is survived by his children: Daniel (Valarie) Peeters, Dennis (Debra) Peeters, Cyndi (Joe) Meidam, Larry (Robin) Peeters, Judy (Jim) Hesse, Tim Peeters; daughter-in-law, Cindy Peeters; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer, Jesse, Cami, Carami, Ashley, Michael, Amy, Brooke, Nicholas, and Jamie; and 8 great-grandchildren. Further survived by his special friend and companion, Gloria Schultz; brothers, John Peeters and Richard Peeters; sisters-in-law: Lois Peeters, Fran Peeters; and brother-in-law: Wilfred Theobald.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death his wife, Monica Peeters; son, Darwin Peeters; brothers: Donald Peeters and Jim Peeters; and sister, Jeanette Theobald.

    Visitation for Leland will take place at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. David Greskowiak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
