- Theresa Spranger, age 91, Wittenberg, died on Thursday, December 25, 2003 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg.
She was born on December 28, 1911 in the town of Reid, Marathon County, the daughter of the late John and Louise (Peska) Miller.
On March 2, 1935, Theresa was united in marriage to Orville "Jim" Spranger in Bevent. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1979.
The couple owned and operated "Sprangers Corners" in the town of Elderon for many years. Theresa was a member of Holy Family-St. William Catholic Parish, Wittenberg and enjoyed vegetable gardening and flowers.
Survivors include, one daughter, Rosemary McGrath, Lake Zurich, IL; three sons, Gary (Gail) Spranger, Genoa, IL, James (Sophie) Spranger, Bloomingdale, IL, Dennis (Kathy) Spranger, Hales Corners, WI; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley and Arlene, two brothers and four sisters.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg Chapel. The Rev. Everard Scesney OFM will officiate. Interment will be in St. Philomena Catholic Cemetery, Town of Norrie, Marathon County. Friends may call on on Saturday from 10AM until the time of services at the chapel.
