    • Orville M. Spranger, age 70, Wittenberg, died Thursday, May 10, 1979 at the home of his sister, Adala Grissman, Eland.

      He was born April 29, 1909 in the town of Elderon, the son of the late Mathias and Antonetta (VanDeHey) Spranger.
      On March 2, 1935 Orville was united in marriage to Theresa Miller in Bevent. She survives.

      In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Gary Spranger, Wonderlake, IL, James Spranger, Woodale, IL and Dennis Spranger, Greenfield, WI; two daughters, Shirley (Norman) Gavinski, Muskego and Rosemary (James) McGrath, Lake Zurich, IL; three brothers, Raymond, Eland, Lyman(Grace), Wittenberg and Herbert(Martha), Hatley; and three sisters, Lillian Van Wettering, Chicago, Verna Lukasko, Eland and Adala (Herman) Grissman, Eland; and 14 grandchildren.

      Orville was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lester.

      Funeral services were held May 14, 1979 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Claude Zabinski officiated. Interment was in St. Philomena Cemetery, Birnamwood.
