- Eeanor M. Schwaller, age 87, of Kaukauna, formerly of Winneconne, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Appleton Medical Center. She was born June 8, 1924, in Little Chute to the late Sylvester and Frances (VanderBloemen) VandenHeuvel. On February 8, 1947, she married Eugene Schwaller at St. John Church in Little Chute. Eleanor was a homemaker, an office secretary, and for 10 years she worked as a cook for the Markesan School District. She also was a salesperson for Avon products for 10 years. For 15 years Eleanor served as a den mother and secretary for the Boy Scouts. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne, and its Christian Mothers. Eleanor enjoyed camping, card club, traveling, fishing, boating, reading, baking, and wintering in Texas.
Eleanor is survived by her seven sons, Gerald (Linda) Schwaller, of Fish Creek; Kenneth (Maureen) Schwaller, of Little Chute; Thomas (Barbara) Schwaller, of Winneconne; Theodore "Bear" Schwaller, of Amberg; David (Nona) Schwaller, of Rochester, Minnesota; Mark (Diane) Schwaller, of Wausaukee; and Jeff (Brenda) Schwaller, of Pembine; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ione (Paul) Gillen, of Connecticut.
Along with her parents, Eleanor was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, on September 16, 2011; one sister, Mary Jacquelyn Golden; and one brother, Don VandenHeuvel.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Little Chute. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
