- De Pere - William J. "Bill" Aerts, 92, De Pere, passed away at home peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer with family at his side. Bill is the son of the late Fred and Frances (VerHeyen) Aerts. On September 27, 1947 Bill married his best friend, love of his life, and soulmate Bernice VanEnkenvort. Bill would say, this was the best day of his life, and Bernice was absolutely perfect. They enjoyed 67 wonderful years together. Bill treasured every moment with her. He loved spending time with his family, and loved going up to their cabin and sitting on the deck with Bernice overlooking the pond watching all the wildlife. Bill enjoyed working in his shop fixing and building things with his hands, his sense of humor was remarkable. He always put a smile on everyone's face. A special thank you to Mike Vandenberg, Bob Greiner, and Marie Shilka for all the memorable visits.
Bill and Bernice had five children; Vicky Aerts (Jeff Blake), Peggy Reinhard (Tom Buschmann), Harvey Aerts, Alice Aerts, and Dennis Sr. (Penny) Aerts. Seven grandchildren; Jessica (David) Brunner, Jacob Blake-Aerts, Justin Blake-Aerts, Kristy (Chad) Schafer, Nathan Aerts, Dennis Aerts Jr., and Dean Aerts. His great grandchildren; Aiden and Madyson Brunner, and Lillian and Kylie Schafer. Bill is further survived by his sisters; Loretta Thyssen, Marge Buresh, Rosemary McVey, Jean McVey, Gerry (Pete) VanDenBogart, Pat (John) Geurts, and brother-in-laws; Red Beyer and Bernard Jones.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Bernice Aerts, Parents; Fred and Frances Aerts, Son Harvey Aerts, Daughter Alice Aerts, and Grandson Justin Blake-Aerts.
His sisters Janice Beyer, Ceil Cornelissen, Dorothy Matzke, Betty Mae Jones, Alice VanDeHei, and brother-in-laws; Ray Thyssen, Joe Buresh, Don McVey, Donald Matzke, and Bernard McVey, further preceded Bill in death.
