      Blazek, Lorraine A.
      Loraine A. Blazek, age 95, died on April 5, 2008, at Emerald Valley Assisted Living in Appleton, WI. Lorraine was born in Appleton on May 4, 1912, to the late Joseph and Julia (Becher) Stoffel. On June 3, 1937, she married Joseph B. Blazek. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1994. Lorraine was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a past member of Catholic Knights Society as well as a member of the St. Pius X Christian Mothers. She loved to play cards and bingo. Lorraine spent over 12 years as a volunteer at the Colony Oaks Care Center. Lorraine was recognized as Volunteer of the Month and Volunteer of the Year several times. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren. Lorraine's favorite hobbies included gardening and sewing.
      Lorraine will be sadly missed by her children: Helen (Blazek) Troy, Joe W. Blazek, Ruth (Blazek) Thielke; sisters: Julia Vissers, Mary Newman, Agnes VanHeuklon and Sally Schroth, all of Appleton; brother & sisters-in-law Gertrude Hermes, George (Dorothy) Blazek, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
      She is preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter Beverly Blazek, who passed away October 20, 1962, and her granddaughter, Jacqueline (DeBruin) Sipe who passed away on April 20, 2004.
      Funeral services will be held April 11, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette Street, Appleton, WI, with Father Thomas Farrell officiating. Visitation will be at Church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
      In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to HPC Foundation, 1294 Lombardi Ave., Green Bay, WI 54304 (Asera Care Hospice).
