    • Age 79, died early Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a lingering illness. He was born September 21, 1903 in the Town of Harrison, where he had been a life resident. Mr. Bartlein had farmed all of his life.

      Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Darlene Bartlein, Menasha; a sister, Renona Bartlein, Appleton; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Laemmrich Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha, with Rev. Patrick Markey officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be an 8 p.m. prayer service. A memorial has been established.
