      James Gerrits

      1198 Olson St. Oshkosh Age 53, died at Mercy Hospital Wednesday morning following an extended illness. He was born October 16, 1918 in Wrightstown, Wisconsin and he was employed with the F.A.A. at Whitman Field, Oshkosh since 1962 in the Airways Facilities Sector, dealing with electronics. he worked at Truax Airport in Madison for 14 years prior to coming to Oshkosh. He was a member of the Toastmasters Club No. 1483 and had served in several offices including the presidency. he served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Survivors are his wife Geraldine; three daughters, Mrs. John (Constance) Didlo, Sun Prairie, Wis, Janis and Wendy, both at home; a son Brian, at home; a brother Leonard, Appleton; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Cyrilla) McCallum, Menasha. Mrs. H. P. (Henrietta) Martin, Clearwater, Florida; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday morning at the Poklasny Funeral Home, South Park Ave. Oshkosh with the Rev. Lynn E Scovill officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Friday until the hour of service.
