    • Karen M. Bodde, 69, of Appleton, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Karen was born in Appleton on October 11, 1944, to the late Robert and Rita (Pitsch) Bodde.

      Karen was both a resident and proud treasurer of John Fischer Manor. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, writing, watching T.V., and ice cream. Karen also delighted in spending time with her grandchildren.

      Karen is survived by her daughters; Sheila (Greg) Shackle, Sara MacDonald, and Serena Lila; grandchildren; Macy and Noelle Shackle; Toby, Chloe, and Alex MacDonald; and Isaiah Throm, Kylah Hoeck, and Tristan Lila; and siblings; Gene Bodde, Barbara (Gary) Seegers, Gloria (Dave) Faccio, Tony (Kim) Bodde, and Ken (Pat) Bodde. She is preceded in death by her parents.

      A Memorial Vigil celebrating Karen's life will be held at 5:45PM on Monday, October 13, 2014, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., with Fr. Brian Wideman officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00PM, until the time of vigil, at the funeral home.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) are appreciated.
