- David Davis, 71, Neenah, "St. David," went to meet his maker in heaven, Monday, September 6, 2010, with loads of love from family and friends and with loving memories of his days of an exceptional roller skater and an adventurous motorcycle driver. He was born April 1, 1939, in Blaine, son of Gordon and AnnaBel (Henke) Davis. David owned and operated the Short Branch Saloon, Neenah, with his wife Lorrie for many years. David and Lorrie were together for 28 years, lovingly raising and influencing their children's lives. He enjoyed his cabin in Bowler where he entertained family and friends and loved to be with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed life to its fullest so he can make his journey to the peaceful home in the sky.
David is survived by his loving wife, Lorrie; children: Dave Davis Jr., Menasha; Randy Davis, Neenah; Carlene (Steve) Scherg, Neenah; Lynn Rucynski, Menasha; Theresa (Dave) Kabat, Chilton; Gordon Davis, Neenah, and girlfriend Tamara; Patty (Dave) Draeger, Neenah; Travis Driessen, Bolivia, South America; 11 grandchildren; brothers and sisters: MaryAnn Gabrielson, New London; Marie (Alton) Grove, Weyauwega; Donald (Rose) Davis, Bear Creek; Martha Bunnell, Big Falls, and friend Chuck; Monica (William) Samson, New London; Marci (Tom) Kelly, Shiocton; Marleen (David) Ross, Omro; Marceda (John) Stilp, New London; Matilda "Jane" Hall, Hortonville and friend Dave; Dwight "Butch" Davis, New London; Brothers- and Sisters-in-law: Dan (Lisa) Driessen, Aurora, IL; Cathy Plath, Neenah; John (Sandy) Driessen, Neenah; Pat (Cindy) Driessen, Menasha; Sherri Driessen, Neenah; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and AnnaBel Davis; brother, Delwin Davis; two sisters: Marge McGowan and Moreen Davis; brothers-in-law: Clarence Gabrielson and David Driessen.
At David's request, a celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010, at the Short Branch Saloon, 1102 Harrison St., Neenah. A memorial has been established.
