      Robert P. Blackowicz, 77 of Johnsburg, IL, formerly of Gurnee for 43 years, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Centegra Medical Center in Woodstock, IL. He was born on January 16, 1929 in North Chicago, IL, and married Delores DeCleene in May, 1957 in Greenleaf, Wisconsin. He retired as a repairman with AT & T in 1984 after 35 years of employment. Mr. Blackowicz was a member of The Church of St. Patrick in Wadsworth and was a member of the Lake Regions Men's Club. He was also a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle.
      He is survived by his wife, Delores; five children, James (Lisa) of Johnsburg, IL, Thomas (Lora) of Lindenhurst, IL, Gary (Jean) Blackowicz of Johnsburg, IL, Cheryl (Gary) Rabine of Johnsburg, IL, and Jeffrey (Mary) Blackowicz of Spring Grove, IL; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Casey (Dorothy) Blackowicz of No. Las Vegas, NV, and Chester (Dora) Blackowicz of Waukegan, IL.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
      Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at The Church of St. Patrick, 15000 Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth. Interment will be private.
      Friends may call at the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., from 5-8 PM on Friday. Friends may also call at the church from 10-11 AM on Saturday.
