Little Chute
Age 90, died Thursday, May 16, 2002 at St. Paul Home with her family by her side. She was born October 5, 1911 in Little Chute daughter of Frank and Anna (Van Dinter) DeBruin. Jeanette was a waitress at Hammen's Restaurant before her marriage to Joseph L. Wildenberg, October 5, 1935 at St. John's Church, Little Chute. He preceded her in death April 14, 1977. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved to play sheepshead. She also enjoyed the fellowship of the Little Chute Senior Nutrition Dinners. She was a past president of St. Johann's Court 555 Catholic Order of Foresters, the St. Elizabeth Society and Dutch Homemakers. She was an officer in Monte Alverno Retreat Guild and a member of St. John Mission Club.
Jeanette is survived by two daughters: Catherine Van Gompel, Little Chute Janice Spaulding, Appleton two sons: Henry (Theresa) Wildenberg, Kaukauna J. Patrick (Mary) Wildenberg, West Branch, Iowa 17 grandchildren: Marie (Paul) Alsbergas, Orangeville, Ontario, Canada Joseph (Toni) Van Gompel, Austin, Texas Carl Van Gompel, Little Chute Chris (Lori) Van Gompel, Darboy Barb (Dave) Ritchie, Darlington Betty Van Gompel, Orlando, Florida Ken Van Gompel and fiancee Kathy Emerich, Hilbert Keith Wildenberg, Milwaukee Shawn Schultz, Fond du Lac Becky Wildenberg, Plover Andy (Carrie) Wildenberg, New Haven, Connecticut Joanna Wildenberg, West Branch, Iowa Elizabeth (Vanicio) Hernandez, West Branch, Iowa Pat (Lisa) Spaulding, Darboy Paul (Cathy) Spaulding, Appleton Joseph Spaulding, Little Chute Jean Marie Spaulding, Duluth, Minnesota a sister, Irma Johnson, Racine a brother-in-law, Orry Schmalz, Kaukauna six sisters-in-law: Hattie DeBruin, Wheaton, Illinois Bernice DeBruin, Kimberly Monica Wildenberg and Helen Eckes, both of Little Chute Josie Beyer, Cudahy Sister Catherine Wildenberg, O.P., Racine.
Mrs. Wildenberg was preceded in death by infant children: Janet Margaret, Karen and Kevin brothers, Harold and Richard DeBruin sisters, Bernice Schmalz and Harriet Merbach son-in-law, Jim Van Gompel and brothers-in-law, Chris Wildenberg and Kermit Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with Rev. Frank Schrage officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the mass.
Mrs. Wildenberg's family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna for the care and compassion that was given to their mother.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
