- George H. Vissers
150 St. Joseph Drive, Oneida
Age 56, passed away December 6, 1991 at his home following a battle with cancer. He was born January 22, 1935 in Combined Locks, son of the late Adrian (Jack) and Waltera (Van Larrhoven) Vissers. On May 3, 1955 he was married to Caroline S. Mroczynski at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino. He was employed as an electrician with the James River Corporation since July 21, 1953. George was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oneida, where he taught religious education classes and served on various committees. He was actively involved in the Marriage Encounter Program. George enjoyed camping and traveling with his family, fishing trips to Canada with his son and downhill skiing and long hikes. Throughout his life he pursued education and had a quest for knowledge. Survivors include his wife, Carol; two sons and a daughter-in-law; Jeff (Lori), Appleton; Travis, Oneida; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Sally, River Falls; Joan (Joe) Damie, Menasha; Crystal (Paul) Hansen, Appleton; Cindy (Paul) Tassoul, Appleton; seven grandchildren: Rosanna, Jennifer, Katie, Jeremy, Kristin, James and Christopher; his mother, Waltera Vissers, Ottowa, Ohio; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Diane (Jack) Platten, Crocker, Missouri; Nita (Dean) Solseng, Lexington, Kentucky; Barb (Bill) Laubenthal, Ottowa, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father and a niece. Due to construction and remodeling at the Muehl Boettcher Funeral Home in Seymour, friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oneida from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sunday and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30. Rev. George Lenzner will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A prayer service will be at 9 p.m. Sunday at the church.
