- Wildenberg, O.P. Sister Cath erine (Kostka)Sister Catherine Wildenberg, O.P. passed away at St. Mary Medical Center, Racine on Thursday, October 14, 2004. She was 91. Catherine Harriet Wildenberg was born February 15, 1913 to Henry and Frances (VerVoort) Wildenberg in Little Chute. In 1932 she was a member of the first graduating class from St. John High School in Little Chute. On August 3, 1932, she join ed the Racine Dominicans and at her reception in 1933 she was given the religious name, Sister Kostka. She professed her first vows in 1935 and her final vows in 1941. In 1968 she returned to using her baptismal name, Catherine. Sister Catherine was a graduate of St. Norbert College, De Pere. Sister Catherine spend many years in service to others in teaching. She began her ministry in 1934 at St. Edward, Racine. She taught at SS Peter & Paul, Green Bay; Holy Cross, Kaukauna and in other schools in Wiscons in and Michigan. She became a resident at Siena Center in 1966 where she worked in the Print Shop. After retiring from the print shop, she tutored at Olympia Brown school in Caledonia and helped in the after school program at Winslow School, Racine. For fifteen years Sister Catherine volunteered in the Intergenerational Fair Program.Sister Catherine is survived by the Racine Dominican Sisters and Associates, and her sisters: Helen Eckes, Little Chute; Josephine Beyer, Cudahy, WI .She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers: Chris and Joseph Wildenberg; sisters: Barbara and Sister Barbara Wildenberg, O.P.The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in the Siena Center Chapel, Monday, October 18, at 6:15 p.m. Visitation was Monday from 2 p.m. until t he Liturgy with a Remembering Service at 4:30 p.m. Interment took place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.
