- Ruth I. Murphy, age 90, formerly of Appleton, entered her Eternal Home, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, on Thursday, February 2, 2012. Ruth was born on October 31, 1921, in Wittenberg, Wisconsin, to the late Michael and Alma (Klitzke) Gracyalny. She married John Murphy on June 24, 1944, in Menasha; he preceded her in death on February 6, 1992. Ruth enjoyed card playing, time spent at the cottage in Conover, trips to the casino and her former membership in the Breakfast Club at Damrow's Restaurant.
Survivors include her children, Jeanne (Jack) Wolslegel; Michael J. Murphy; and Kathy (Guy) Frederickson; her grandchildren, Jeff Wolslegel, Jeff Murphy, Jonathan Murphy, Kelly Frederickson and Katie Frederickson; her great grandson, Alex Wolslegel; and her sisters, Tatie Wieseler and Donna Verhagen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her grandsons, Jack Wolslegel, Jr. and Jason Murphy; and five sisters and two brothers.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at Noon on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. James Leary officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Deacon C.F. Dedman, Dr. Travis Kroner and Carol, and the staff at St. Paul Villa, especially Linda, for their loving care.
