    Doris J. Skotzke, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She was born on March 26, 1934, in Green Bay, the daughter of Frank and Alma (Maricque) Nooyen. Doris was a mother to her core. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all of her being. She was loving, caring, generous, and enjoyed feeding everyone. Doris also loved the water at the cottage on Shawano Lake. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish, Appleton, and she was a pillar of faith for the family. Doris enjoyed spending time with her best friend and neighbor, Patty Parker. She was united in marriage to John Skotzke in May of 1953 at St. Therese Catholic Parish, Appleton, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

    Doris is survived by her 6 children: Chris (Mike Klingert) Skotzke, Steve (Laurie) Skotzke, Mike Skotzke, John Skotzke Jr., Lea (special friend Tony Kokke) Skotzke, and Maria (David) Schmidt Skotzke-Schmidt; 10 grandchildren: Christina (Kyle) Hilscher, KD (Daniel) Ullsperger, Sam (Katie) Cianciola, Kiara (Jason) Ehrmentraut, Matt Skotzke, Carly (Matt Seelow) Skotzke, Colton Skotzke, Lea (Logan) Strebig, Kathryn (special friend Brett) Schmidt, and Mitchell Schmidt; 11 great grandchildren: Jack, Beau, and Ella Hilscher, Luella and Maisy Cianciola, Gracie, James, Hazel, and Estelle Ehrmentraut, Brexzyn Seelow, and Lincoln Strebig; former daughters-in-law: Becky Skotzke and Maria Beisenstein; sisters- and brother-in-law: June Nooyen and Paul (Irene) Skotzke; other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her parents and husband; Doris was further preceded in death by a step-father: Henry Jobelius and his family; and 4 brothers: Mathew, Gene, Roger, and Thom Nooyen.

    Close family and friends are invited to join Doris' family at a funeral Mass at 10:30 am, on Monday, November 14, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 State St., Appleton. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
