    Carl M. Schumacher January 3, 1937 — September 1, 2023 Kimberly
    Carl Schumacher, age 86 of Kimberly, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, September 1, 2023. Carl was born January 3, 1937 in Combined Locks, son of the late John and Harriet (Kemps) Schumacher. He attended and graduated from Kimberly High School in 1956. On June 14, 1958 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, he married the former Joan Weyenberg. The couple spent sixty-five years together and raised two daughters.

    For over forty years Carl worked at Kimberly Clark in Neenah. The first several years there he worked in the mill, and upon his retirement he held the title of Safety Coordinator. Carl was member of the Barbershop Harmony Society and sang with the Appleton Fox Valleyaires Chorus for sixty-six years. He sang baritone in several local quartets including Grin ‘n’ Tonics and The Unlawful Assembly. His other passions were church and community service and woodworking.

    He is survived by his loving wife Joan; two daughters: Kim (James) Swinghamer and Kay (Brian) Walcheck. He will also be missed by his adoring granddaughters: Erin (Joel) Greenya, Kelly (Sean) McCord, Morgan (Mark McCormick) Walcheck, and Sydney (fiancé Riley Hutter) Walcheck. His great-grandchildren are Nora and Eli Greenya and Olivia McCord. Other survivors include his sister Joan (Willy) Wollenberg; a brother-in-law: Marv (Bev) Weyenberg; and a sister-in-law Joyce Bauman. Additional survivors include Joan’s sisters-in-law: Joyce Weyenberg and Fee Weyenberg, and Carl’s sister-in-law Joan (Clyde’s Joan) Schumacher.

    Carl was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Harold, Lorraine, Marvin, Clyde, Myrt, as well as brothers-in-law Glenn Weyenberg and Bill Weyenberg.

    The funeral liturgy for Carl will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Holy Spirit Parish – Darboy Site located at W2806 County Road KK. Fr. Carl Schmitt will officiate and burial will take place at Holy Name Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will take place directly at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
