On Saturday, October 8, 2022, James Joseph Bartman, Loving partner and father of three, grandfather of 13, passed away at the age of 74. Born to Robert and Marie Bartman (Krause) in Appleton WI, February 29th, 1948, he graduated from Appleton (West) High School. Jim proudly served his country as a Seagoing Marine for four years during the Vietnam war honorably discharged as a Sargeant in 1969. Upon returning from serving his country he married Rose Brendemihl (9/19/1970) and began his 43-year career at Appleton Papers in Combine Locks, WI. James retired in 2011 and spent the next 11 years waking up to everyday as Saturday.

Jim had a deep personal faith that permeated all aspects of his life and truly enabled him to be a light and a positive spark to all he came in contact with. Beyond talking or discussing his faith and beliefs, he was an excellent example of how to be the hands and feet of Jesus by living his beliefs as an authentic person of character and integrity. He always enjoyed being available with a listening ear, open discussions, or offering his honest and gentle advice to others.

As a sports enthusiast, Jim was in his element attending as many of his grandchildren’s games in any sport they may have been involved in. He truly enjoyed driving all over the Fox Valley and surrounding states to attend all levels of events for the grandkids. He also attended as many of the concerts, dramas, dances or parades as he could to take it all in.

Basketball, golf, swimming, and hiking were some of his favorite activities he participated in as long as he possibly could and found great joy in all of them. Camping at Big Muskie and Crystal Lake with Rose, the many pets, and the family held a special place in his heart where he could relax and many wonderful memories were made. He especially enjoyed going on long walks and talking with those close to him. Jim always had a warm personality, a smile on his face and a joke at the ready.

We all remember his fierce love of his greatest treasure which was his family. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rose Bartman (Brendemihl); his three children: Dawn (Christopher) Wruck, Mark (Ruthann) Bartman, Thomas (Jill) Bartman; and 13 grandchildren: Ryan Vanden Huevel, Zachary (Holly) Wruck, Nathanael Wruck, Kevin Vanden Huevel, Keri (Jordan) Thut; Anthony Bartman, Miquela Bartman, Olivia Bartman, Caleb Bartman, Korianna Bartman; and Josiah Bartman, Alexander Bartman, Lyzetta; Bartman; Brother Steve (Lois) Bartman, Sister Jeanette (Bill) Harold; Sister in law Florence (Robert Bartman) Knier, Sister in law Shirely (Dick) Bartman; Jim was preceded in death by Father Robert F.
