    • Martin J. Van Asten
      1004 Depot St., Little Chute
      Age 78, passed into eternal life Monday evening,
      November 9,1981. He was born September 26,1903
      and had resided in Little Chute his entire life. Mr. Van
      Asten worked at Giddings and Lewis Machine Co.,
      Kaukauna, prior to his retirement in 1968. He was a
      member of St. John Catholic Church, and a member of
      the Quarter Century Club of Giddings & Lewis. He is
      survived by his wife, Ora Fox Van Asten; four daughters
      and five sons-in-law: Shirley and Doug Beyer, Neenah;
      Janice and Herb Batley, Menasha; Diane and Jim Hoppe,
      Sheboygan; Dottie and Jim Hill, Neenah; and Robert
      Byrne, Appleton; two brothers: Bert, California; and
      Arnold, Little Chute; and 26 loving grandchildren. Also
      survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Grace and Bill
      Daul, Freedom; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and
      Phyliss Randerson, Darboy; and a daughter-in-law, Mrs.
      George (Nita) Randerson, Kimberiy, all on his wife's
      side. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosella
      Vandenberg Van Asten; an infant son, Joseph; a
      daughter, Audrey Van Asten Byrne; and George
      Randerson. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at
      St. John Catholic church, with the Rev. Msgr. James
      VandenHogen officiating. Interment will be in the
      parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m.
      Wednesday at Verkuilen Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m.
      Thursday until time of the service. There will be a
      prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial
      fund is being established.
