      Bertha E. Zahn, of Kaukauna, age 89, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. Bertha was born March 4, 1916 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late August and Lydia (Vlemincks) Wuyts. In 1941, she married William Zahn in Kaukauna he preceded her in death in April of 1979. For many years, Bertha was employed at the local A & W Restaurant, as well as at Kaukauna Cheese.

      She was a member of the Kaukauna Moose Lodge where she donated countless hours over the years. Bertha enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and will be remembered as an avid baker who was also the most generous of women.

      Bertha is survived by a daughter, Carol Reinhardt of Kaukauna nine grandchildren: Linda (David) Green, Steven (Fran) Smith, Ken Smith, Barbara Smith, Jeffery (Laurie) Smith, Theresa Smith, Gary (Susan) Klarner, Dan (Pat) Klarner, and JoAnn (Mark) Shropshire twelve great-grandchildren: Dennis Green, Dan Green, Benjamin Smith, Mark Smith, Rebecca Smith, Heather Smith, Jeremy Smith, Trisha Smith, Cory Klarner, Amanda Klarner, Kate Shropshire, and Jake Shropshire three brothers: Carl Wuyts of Utah, Jack (Bernice) Wuyts of Kaukauna, and Robert (Aureta) Wuyts of Kaukauna two sisters: Florence (Leo) Blair of Kaukauna and Emma Terry of Kaukauna a sister-in-law, Louise Wuyts of Kaukauna.

      Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1979 a daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" (Norman) Klarner brothers: Harry (Jean) Wuyts and Al Wuyts a sister, Ann (Joe) Rademacher and a brother-in-law, Ezra Terry.

      The funeral service for Bertha will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at PEACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2300 E. Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna with Rev. Kent Ingram officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.

      The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Kaukauna Clinic as well as to everyone at St. Paul Elder Services for the wonderful care Bertha received while in your care. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
