- Leona Plamann, age 102, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2014. She was born August 27, 1911 in the Town of Center to the late John and Louisa (Dalke) Krueger. On April 25, 1928 she married Leslie Plamann who preceded her in death on September 3, 1995. She was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church.
During her life she loved to sew, crochet, knit, and enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She worked various jobs including waitressing and at the Fox River Knitting Mill. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also at their cottage on the Bay in Suamico.
Leona is survived by her three sons: Paul (Mary), Appleton, Richard, Appleton, and Roger (Judy), Malone. Two sisters: Pauline Buss and Verla Koerner. Grandsons: Ron, Dan (Gail), Carl (Tammy), Steve (Tani), Roy, Rick (Jen), Mike (Bev), Mark (Debbie), and step grandchildren: Glynn (Shannon), Gayle (Mark), Gina (Leigh), and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Joyce Plamann, four sisters: Verona Luebke, Erma Tiedt, Vera Herzfeldt, and Louise Larson; four brothers: Lawrence, John, Lloyd, and Carl Krueger; two sisters in laws, six brothers-in-law, and one grandson.
A funeral service will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 3009 N. Meade St., Appleton, with Rev. Debra Sim officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Wednesday from 9 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
