- Lorraine M. (Lolly) Nick, 87, Howard, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a short illness at a local hospital on March 5, 2012.
Lolly was born April 5, 1924, to the late Joe and Hattie (Scray) Vanden Langenberg in Green Bay, Wis. Lolly married Orland Nick on Oct. 5, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2003. Lolly was a very hard worker but enjoyed life, including bus trips with her brothers and sisters to the casinos. She loved the beach, the sun, going up north, playing cards but most important to her were her family and friends.
Survivors include her loving children, Jeffrey (Karen), Debbie, Eric (Pam), Michelle (David) Johnson, and Michael (Eileen); 13 grandchildren, Bob, David (Deana)Nick, Kris (Paul) Harrison, Steve (Jenna), Jennifer, Brad (Michelle) Nick, Kari (Michael) King, Kendra (Jim) Campbell, Andy (Emily), Derek, and Danielle Johnson, Mitchell, and Kristin Nick; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Eloise Vander Kelen, Howard (Jan) Vanden Langenberg, Bernice (Arnie) Rentmeester, Raphael (Ida) Vanden Langenberg, Ron (Jeannie) Vanden Langenberg; sisters in-law, Pearl, Betty, Barb, and Lorraine Vanden Langenberg; brother-in-law, John Gittens. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Erica; brothers, Harvey, Lloyd, Kenny and Marve; sister, Rosella (Ray) Lamal; sisters-in-law, Joyce Gittens, Eunice (Arnie) Plischke; brother-in-law, Bill Vander Kelen.
Family and friends may call at St. John the Baptist Church, Howard, from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 8. Parish prayer at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 9, from 10 until 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Fr. John Bergstadt presiding.
