      Letter, Joseph C. Joseph C. Letter, 51, Cecil, Wis., passed away Saturday afternoon May 6, 2006, at home with his family at his side following a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Bernice (Eisenreich) Letter and the late Cyril Letter Sr. was born Oct. 21, 1954, in Green Bay. Joe was a 1972 graduate of Seymour High School. On July 14, 1973, he was united in marriage to Ruth Van Kauwenberg in Seymour. Joe was employed at Bay Lake Companies LLC of Oconto Falls. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church is Shawano. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, cooking, wine making, and trips to Mexico. His favorite hobby was making friends and he loved time spent with family and friends. Joe also enjoyed living and boating on the water.

      Survivors include his wife, Ruth; Nan (Dan) Pum, Madison; Nick (Sally) Letter, Seymour; Craig (Beth) Letter, Apple Valley, Minn.; Amy Jo Letter, Green Bay; 2 grandchildren, Valerie and Zachary; his mother Bernice Letter, Seymour; his brothers and sisters, Bill (Elaine) Letter, Black Creek; Bob (Lucille) Letter, Seymour; Jim (Sheila) Letter, Pulaski; Kathy (Jerry) Mueller, Mountain; Karen (Mike) Forsberg, Hancock, Wis.; Cy (Patti) Letter, Seymour; Chuck (Kim) Letter, Seymour; Carol (Matt) Opgenorth, Seymour; Barb (Murray) Neppl, Crivitz; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many many friends.

      Joe was preceded in death by his infant daughter, June; and his father, Cyril Letter Sr.

      Friends may call Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St. Seymour, from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9th, 2006. The visitation will continue Wednesday, after 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawano, until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the church with Father Len Evers officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, in Seymour.

      A memorial fund has been established in Joe's name.
