    • Mary Ann Kappell, 74, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mary Ann was born on January 28, 1936, to the late Albert and Martha (Haen) Poppe. She married Eugene Kappell on July 8, 1952, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. She was a caring and compassionate person and will be missed by all who knew her. Mary Ann's family and helping others were most important to her and she was loved by all her grandchildren. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

      Mary Ann is survived by five children; Barbara (Lyle) Balthazor, Karen Krueger, Randy Kappell, Leona (Jerome) Nettekoven, and Albert Kappell, 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, sisters; Bonnie Otto, and Betty Vander Pas, brothers; Marvin (Sharon), Richard (Mary) and Larry (Maryanne) Poppe, a sister-in-law, Val Poppe, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
      Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, and a brother Joseph Poppe.
      The Funeral Liturgy for Mary Ann will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH (410 W. Lawrence St. Appleton) with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM.CAP officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
