Age 54, died at 5:15 Saturday after a lingering illiness. He was born February 18, 1924 in Kimberly. He had been employed by Consolidated Paper Co. prior to his illness. He had served in the Coast Coast for 3 1/2 during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae Vander Horst Verhagen; his mother, Mrs. Mae Verhagen, Appleton; four daughters, Mrs. Dan [Diane] Vande Voort, Oneida; Mrs. William [Marilyn] Kamps, Appleton; Rosie and Betty, both at home; six sons, Jerry, Reedsville; Tom, Ron, Dan, Randy, and Duane, all at home; two brothers, Eugene, Appleton; Marvin, Menasha; three sisters, Mrs. Richard [Blanche] Verhagen, Kaukauna; Mrs. Ken [Delores] Hennessey, Kimberly; Mrs. Russell [Yvonne] Hassel, Little Chute; seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers and one sister.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Appleton with the Rev. James Putman officiating. Interment will be in the Veterans Cemetery, Wood. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute from 4 until 9 p.am. Monday. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
