      Porto, Ada A.
      Ada A. Porto, Menasha, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Heartwood Homes. She was born February 8, 1917, in Duck Creek, daughter of the late Joseph and Vivian (Armstrong) Schommer. Ada married Joseph Porto on November 24, 1938. Ada enjoyed spending time at her Northwood's cottage, walking in the woods, picking berries, crewel and knitting. She traveled to Jackson Hole, WY and fell in love with it. Ada loved attending Packer games.
      She was a loving wife, mother and adoring grandmother and she will be sadly missed by her husband, Joseph; five children: Judith Shepherd, Marquette, MI; Thomas Porto, Arbor Vitae; James (Gayle) Porto, Racine; Mary (Marshall) Johnson, Appleton; Christopher (Jane) Porto, Sarasota, FL; fifteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jane Krablean, Menasha; Wilda Simon, Menasha; an aunt, Lenore Armstrong, Escanaba, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
      She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Patti-Anne Marie; twin infant grandsons; and a great- granddaughter, Leah; and four brothers: Roger, Robert, Nicholas and Joseph Jr.
      A Traditional Latin Requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1782 Chapelle Rue, off of Lost Dauphin Road, West De Pere, with Fr. Hector Bolduc officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited of the intentions of the soul of the deceased at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Michaels Catholic Church.
