    • Frances T. Otte, Kaukauna, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Brillion West Haven Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised on her family's farm near Freedom on October 28, 1928 to the late John and Alegunda (Verhasselt) Ebben and attended school in Freedom until the 8th grade.

Frances met her husband at the Nitingale Ballroom. They were united in marriage on August 28, 1951 St. Nicholas Catholic Church. They spent the next 57 wonderful years together before James passed away. After their marriage they purchased a farm near Kaukauna and they joined St. Katharine Drexel Parish at St. Mary's Site where Frances was still a member.

Frances was a very hard working person and never complained. For over 50 years she was her husband's partner on their family farm. There she raised her children along with milking cows, helping with the fieldwork, housekeeping, gardening, and cooking and baking for her family. Her biggest joy in her later years was spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her children: Eugene, Kaukauna and good friend, Debbie Forester, Little chute; Mary Jane (Edwin) Knutson, Reedsville; Betty (James) Boucher, Black Creek; George (Cindy Burmeister) Otte, Reedsville; six grandchildren: Bob (Jodi) Boucher; Brenda Boucher; Becky (Andy) Nielsen; Amy Otte; Joshua Otte (special friend Hope Paider) and Edwin (Jenny) Knutson Jr.; nine great-grandchildren: Brianna, Mikayla, Autumn, Tristan, Kade, Kole, Katie, Lucy and Raymond; one brother and sister-in-law: William (Jo Ann) Ebben, Kaukauna; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is further survived by her late husband's sister, Lorraine Van Handel.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, James, a daughter, Cindy, her parents, a brother and sister-in-law: Edmund (Anna) Ebben; nephew, Ulrich Ebben; niece, Barbara Ebben; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Emma and Clarence Jansen, Margaret and Gordon Van De Hey, Ethel and Don Halbach, Edward Van Handel, Therese Otte, infant George Otte and her husband's nephews: Chuck Van Handel and Sonny Van De Hey.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Frances will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. MARY SITE, 2401 Main Ave., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Family and friends will be received directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established. The family has chosen Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna to assist them. 766-2099. www.boettcherfamilyfuneral.com

The Otte family would like to thank the staff at Brillion West Haven (especially Hope) for the wonderful care given to our mother for the last four years. We would also like to thank Heartland Hospice for the gentle care and compassion in her final journey home.
