- Marlene Joann Paalman, age 78, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, following a short illness. Marlene was born on November 23, 1937 in Kimberly to the late Theodore and Adeline (Neiland) Paalman. She worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory for a few years and Riverside Paper for 40 years. Marlene enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, spending time at the cottage in Vilas County and feeding the birds at home and watching the deer and turkeys out the dinning room window. She also enjoyed sneaking treats to family dog Kia.
Marlene is survived by her four brothers, Eugene Paalman, King, William (Carol) Paalman, Greenville, Lonny Paalman, Combined Locks and Scott (Amy) Paalman, Weyauwega; two sisters, Donna Paalman, Combined Locks and Elaine (Sonny) Skrobel, Benson, AZ and dear friend Tom Mathewson, New London. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Paalman and nephew, Gary Paalman.
A memorial service will be held for Marlene at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Cline and Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
