  • Notes
    • Robert J. Wichman Sr. "Bob," age 79, of Neenah, went home peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Brewster Village from complications of a stroke he suffered many years ago. Bob was born in Freedom on October 4, 1933 to the late Albert and Marjorie (Garvey) Wichman. After High School, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After military service, Bob worked as a machinist at Fox River Paper Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1996. Bob enjoyed watching the Brewer games with his granddaughter Nicole. He also enjoyed racing, and visits from his grandchildren and great grandson Mason.

Bob is survived by 2 sons: Robert J. (Paula) Wichman Jr., Neenah, and David (Denise) Wichman, Greenville; 4 grandchildren: Lisa, Nicole, Rob, and Hailey; great grandson Mason; a brother, Jerome (Margaret) Wichman, Freedom; and an aunt, Rose Smits, Appleton. Bob is further survived by nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, special friend Eileen, Aunt Mildred Garvey, and two uncles: Lloyd Garvey and Clarence Smits.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 12, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, in Freedom, with Father Daniel Felton officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment with full military honors will take place at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brewster Village, especially the staff on Heron Point for the compassionate care shown to Bob.
