    • Jim, age 85, of Appleton, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011, at Cherry Meadows Hospice following a lengthy illness. He was born March 8, 1926, in Appleton, son of the late Patrick and Rose (Feeley) Heenan. He married Virginia Flease, November 11, 1950, sharing 60 years together.

      Jim was a graduate of St. Norbert Seminary. He was a truck driver for Eastern Transportation, Northern Transportation, Olson Transportation and for 34 years he drove for C.W. Transport. He was a bus driver for the Appleton West Girls Soft Ball Team. For 23 years he was a delivery driver for Memorial Florist. Jim enjoyed eating breakfast at the Golden Basket with his long time friends. He collected Lionel Trains and enjoyed putting up the Dickens Village at Christmas. Jim proudly served in the Navy during WW II. He was a member of American Legion Post 38 and VFW Post 2778 in Appleton. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

      He is survived by his wife; Virginia; four sons and daughters-in-law: Patrick and Carol, Appleton and their daughter, Andrea; Mike and Sue, Appleton and their son, Nick and his fiancee, Melissa; Tim and Jane, Appleton and their son, Brian; Tom and Sally and their children: James (J.T.), Kylie and Mitchell; a brother-in-law: Harold Blanshan, Tucson, AZ.

      He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beth Ann Heenan, four sisters: Katherine Hahn, Patricia Blanshan; Rosemary Heenan and Mary Holtz.

      Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., with Rev. Bob Lexa officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Monday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Church or the Martha Siekman Cancer Center. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

      The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice and Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, Dr. John Swanson, Dr. Mortara and Mary Jo- "Irish".
