- Clement E. Geenen a Sarasota resident since 1976, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 92. Clem, formerly of Appleton, WI, owned and operated Geenen's Food Market for 30 years. It was there he met and married Laurine Bogan his wife of 63 years. Clem was a WW II Army Veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his distinguished service and for wounds he received during his service in France. Clem is survived by his sister, Marcella Campshure of Menasha, WI; his wife, Laurine; their six children, Michael, William, Timothy, James, Thomas, Patti Ann; and by seven grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 9:15-10 a.m. at St. Martha Catholic Church on Thursday, April 3rd with a funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota. Toale Brothers Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements in Sarasota 941-955-4171. Clem will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
