Hietpas, Donald H., Formerly of Kaukauna, Eagle River Age 73, died Thursday May 29, 2003. Don was born on October 3, 1929 to the late Bernard J. and Mathilda (Romenesko) Hietpas in Little Chute. He married the former Betty A. DeJong on August 19, 1953 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. Don served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1951. He owned and operated Hietpas Motors Chrysler/Plymouth Dealership in Kaukauna. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and cards as well as his retirement in the Northwoods. Don and Betty were planning and looking forward to their 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration in August. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hietpas of Eagle River; his five children, Mary Kay (Joe) Van Handel of Freedom, Diane (special friend, Marty Thomson) Verhagen of West De Pere, Barbara (Chuck) Ditter of Waukesha, Michael Hietpas of Freedom and Bernie (Kara) Hietpas of Kaukauna; twelve grandchildren, Eric, Kim, Emily, Joey, Leah (Sean) Carpen, Amy, Tim, Jenny, Brooke, Christopher, Allie and Ben; one great granddaughter, Ingrid; three sisters, Laverne (Cliff) Weyers of Kaukauna, Gladys Jelenc of FL, Mary (Dan) Bork of Appleton; one brother Marv (Ellie) Hietpas of Kaukauna; one brother in law, Frank (Joyce) DeJong; three sisters in law, Rose (Ken) Romenesko, Ardene (Ed) Welhouse and Julia Hietpas. Many friends, relatives and cousins will also miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jerry and Vince Hietpas, four brothers in law, Marty Jelenc, Corneal DeJong, Red Schumann and Roland Geurts and one nephew, Bobby Romenesko. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday June 2, 2003 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarky officiating. Friends will be received on Monday at Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Burial Rites will be preformed following services. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial is being established in Dons name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home is assisting the family. 766-2099.
