    • Jerome Friebel, "Old Man Winnebago," 76, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at home. Jerome was born on August 20, 1933, to Joseph and Regina (Hooyman) Friebel. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years from 1952 until 1956 onboard the USS Ellison; afterwards he worked at Kimberly-Clark until his retirement. Romie then owned and operated the R K Corral in Stockbridge. He was an avid sportsman and his passion was fishing.

      Romie is survived by six children; Curtis Friebel, Menasha, Robert (Kathleen) Friebel, Kaukauna, Debbie (Dave) Korth, Menasha, Jeff (Gail) Friebel, St. Augustine, FL, Keith (Denise) Friebel, Weyauwega, Tanya Fink; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard "Dick" Friebel; two sisters: Ilamae (George) Langenhuizen and Margaret (Jim) Greely; his former wife, Barbara Bethke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

      Romie was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Dorothy "Sis" Langenhuizen.

      A memorial service for Romie will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, with military rites to follow the services. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010, from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
