Age 74, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 1, 1996 at her home. She was born on May 10, 1916 in Kaukauna, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Huven Ebben. She attended Freedom Schools and later the Notre Dame Convent School in Elm Grove. She married on November 20, 1941 at Cicero Lutheran Church in the Town of Cicero to Walter Roepcke. After marriage the coupl had lived in Chilton from 1959 to 1980 at which time they moved to Hilbert. Mrs. Roepcke nwas a homemaker and enjoyed doing crafts and decorating wedding cakes. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hilbert.
Survivors include two daughters; Cheri Steinfest, Chilton; and Karen Kelley, Los Alamos, New Mexico; four sons and daughters in-law; Vern and Jo Ann Roepcke, Hilbert; Bob and Alice Roepcke, Chilton; Keith and Linda Roepcke, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Ken and Sheilla Roepcke, Elkhart Lake; a daughter in-law; Lori Roepcke, Springfield, Missouri; 19 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; six sisters and four brothers in-law; Mrs. Peter [Till] Van Den Bosch, Freedom; Mrs. Ervin [Frances] Deprez, Phoenix, Arizonia; Sister Janet M. Ebben, Springfield, Illinois; Genevieve Ebben, Appleton; Mrs. Raymond [Margie] Heindl, Kaukauna; and Mrs. Sylvester [Dolly] Waurunek, Luxemberg; three brothers and sisters in-law; Vincent and Mary Ebben and Bill and Helen Ebben, all of Kaukauna; and Hank and Rosie Ebben, Green Bay; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter in 1992; a son, Gary in 1995; a grandson, a son in-law, Tom Steinfest; and a brother, Dick Ebben.
Services will be Friday for 2 p.m. February 9, 1996 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert with the Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Hilbert. Friends may call frome 4-9 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 1996 at Samsom Funeral Home, Hilbert and from noon until the time of the service at the church. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home Thursday.
