He is also survived by brothers and sisters: Rod (Nancy) Hietpas, Kaukauna; Pam (Juris) Grinbergs, Freedom; Keith (Kelly) Hietpas, Menomonee Falls; Kurt Hietpas, Chilton; Patti (Art) Dworak, Green Bay; Brenda VanAsten, Little Chute; and sisters-in-law, Vicki Hietpas and Barb Hietpas. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Kay, and brothers, Bill and Tim.

Rick worked for WE Energies for 42 years, working his way from office clerk to substation electrician and material specialist. He had many friends and associates there he will miss.

Rick was involved in many different organizations and enjoyed volunteering with them. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling whenever he could. He was a warm and friendly person that enjoyed meeting different people from all over the country. He will be missed by many…

An Angel brought to the arms of his parents a new baby boy, Rick. As the years went by the Angel also brought five brothers and four sisters. Rick loved being part of a large family and years later was blessed with his own three lovely daughters and six grandchildren…all of whom he was very proud of and will miss the most.

Visitation will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH (601 S. Washington St. Combined Locks) followed by a short memorial service at 4:00 p.m. The Rev. Tim Krick will officiate. A small reception will be held, following the memorial service, at Hitter's Sports Bar in Kimberly. Sign the guestbook at oconnellfh.com.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support. A special thanks to the doctors, specialists, nurses, and friends that have helped over the years, especially the caring staffs at Appleton Medical Center and Thedacare Hospice Residence.

"… and to all the people I have met in the past, thanks, it's been my pleasure to have known you."
