    • Appleton - Joan Linda Coenen, age 83, passed peacefully at her home on November 23, 2018. Joan was born on January 4, 1935, in New London, daughter of the late Alfred and Elsie (Brockman) Bungert. Throughout her life she enjoyed all thing nature; gardening, growing flowers, watching birds, and spending time at the cottage on Lake Lucerne. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and providing them with a faith filled, loving and comfortable home.

      Joan is survived by her loving husband of 63 years: Kermit Coenen; their children: Jeffrey (Katie) Coenen, Tamra Coenen, and Jonathan (Christine) Coenen; and grandchildren: Patrick (Charlotte), Megan, Molly, and Maria. She is further survived by her sisters: Phyllis Jentz and Lois (Ken) Coenen; brother: Fred (Bonnie) Bungert; and sisters-in-law: Rosie Coenen and Linda (Gene) Koponen. She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Raymond and Lorinda Coenen; brothers-in-law: Donald (Joanne) Coenen and Duane Coenen; as well as an infant grandson Justin.

      A private family service was held. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Joan's name will be established benefiting her favorite charities.
