- Georgene Kreinberg, 65, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2011 at the Kaiser Hospital in Antioch, California. Georgene was born on October 4, 1946 in Neenah, Wisconsin, the third child of Henry and Laura Werner. After graduating from St. Mary's High School in Menasha, Georgene attended Rosary College and Marquette University, before graduating from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois. She later received a Masters in Public Administration from Golden Gate University, Lafayette, California.
Georgene lived in Chicago, Illinois, and Fort Wayne, Indiana before moving to California in 1981. She worked in local government management in California, both as an analyst and an administrator. Most recently, Georgene was employed at the Town of San Anselmo and at the Marin Municipal Water District. She retired in 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Grant Kreinberg, of Green Valley, California, daughter Jennifer Kreinberg of Oceano, California, brother Peter, of Clyde, North Carolina, and three cousins, Kathy Gosz of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Carole Kortenhof of Appleton, Wisconsin and Marilyn Gosz of Laguna Niguel, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Mary Ann, all of Neenah, Wisconsin.
Georgene loved all animals, especially her two dogs, Gus and Sarah. Gus has been adopted by Grant and Jennifer has adopted Sarah. She was also an avid reader and cookbook collector.
At Georgene's request, a private cremation was held. Memorials in her honor may be made to the Solano Land Trust, Rockville Trails Fund, at 1001 Texas St # C, Fairfield, CA 94533-5723.
