Age 88, died Thursday, August 26, 1993 at Colony Oaks Care Center after a 21/2 year battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born July 19, 1905 in Freedom to the late Samuel and Anna (Weyenberg) Van Kamp. He married the former Marie Biersteker on February 28, 1927 in Little Chute. Babe was owner and operator of Van Kamp's Supper Club in Appleton for 34 years. He began business on December 3, 1941 and retired in 1975. He was also a member of the Elks Club.
Survivers include his wife, Marie; two brothers; Joseph and Jacob Van Kamp of Freedom and nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Mass of resurrection will be hel at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 W. Lawrence St. Fr. John Holly and Fr. John Zickert of Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly will officiate, with entombment at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. The Wichmann Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
