    • Margaret Hietpas, 74, Appleton, formerly of Kimberly, died after a brief illness Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Appleton Health Care Center. She was born September 24, 1936, in Kaukauna, daughter of William P. and Margaret (Verhagen) Hietpas. Margaret was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. She was employed in the restaurant business for many years. Margaret enjoyed crafting and was affectionately known as the "Craft Queen" at Appleton Health Care Center. She also enjoyed playing cards.

      Margaret is survived by brothers: Owen (Irene) Hietpas, Leesburg, FL; Mark G. (Gladys) Hietpas, Little Chute; a sister-in-law, Irene Hietpas, Little Chute; a brother-in-law, William (special friend Sandra) Mattern, Menasha; numerous special and loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews and other relatives.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters: Arthur Hietpas; Paul (Ethel) Hietpas; Patricia (Bud) Tatro; Bernice (Ted) Larson; Bill (Yvonne) Hietpas; Betty (Casey) Vander Sanden; Shirley Mattern and Dennis Hietpas; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hietpas.
      Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Fr. James Hablewitz officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be at the church from 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
      Margaret's family wishes to thank Appleton Health Care Center and staff for their loving care and compassion.
