Wallenfang, Dorothy J.
Dorothy J. Wallenfang, 78, Appleton, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Colony Oaks with her family by her side. She was born July 8, 1930, in Elmhurst, Ill., to the late Paul and Gladene Kimball. Dorothy married Jerome Wallenfang on Aug. 28, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1998. Dorothy was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. She loved to do crafts and was known for her pinecone wreaths and wheat weaving.
Dorothy is survived by sons, Jerome (Peggy) Wallenfang, Jr., Darboy; and Mark (Maureen) Wallenfang, Appleton; daughters, Diane (Geno) Randerson, Kaukauna; and Patti Uhiren, Hazen, Ark.; brother, Donald (Meryl) Cunningham, Washington Island; sisters, Joan Church, Illinois; Sharon (Bud) Hessick, Illinois; and Betty Cesaretti, Illinois; sister-in-law, Karen Cunningham, Illinois; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Lavahn Miles. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Douglas Cunningham; and son-in-law, Mike McCormick.
A funeral service for Dorothy will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at First United Methodist Church (corner of Drew and Franklin streets) with the Rev. Dr. Tom Fritz officiating. Interment will be at Dale Union Cemetery. Visitation for Dorothy will be at the church on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
