- Pierquet, Fern Marie
Our beloved mother, Mrs. Fern Marie Pierquet, 93, lifelong Allouez and Preble resident, died Sept. 6, 2013, at Manor Care East Rehabilitative Center. She died peacefully in her sleep from Congestive Heart Failure. Family members were at her side. She was born on May 17, 1920, to the late Wesley and Clara (Elliot) Krueger. Fern was a graduate of East High in Green Bay. She married Robert Pierquet on Sept. 14, 1940. She was a homemaker and mother of five children, Barb (James) Metzler, Richard who is deceased, Kathy (Richard) Derozier, Roger (Donna 'Jody') Pierquet, and Lori; five grandchildren, Sally (Dave Cartwright), Melissa (Mark Colin), Dan, Ricky, and Deagan; and two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Mallorie. She also had numerous nieces and nephews. She loved family gatherings, Packer games, music, Regis Philbin, her cottage and trips to Door County, polkas, travel, and playing cards at the Allouez Senior Center. She was a member of Holy Martyrs and St. Matthews Catholic churches. She also was a hard worker both at home and in family businesses (dairy farm, home construction, Woodside Country Club). She also volunteered at St. Vincent's Hospital, a school library, Ladies Altar Society, and the Funeral Choir.
Mrs. Pierquet was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Wesley and Maude Krueger. At age 93, Fern has already said goodbye to all but one sister Mrs. Carol DeGroot and one sister-in-law Mrs. Joyce Krueger. Her six brothers and five sisters include William (Della) Krueger, Fred (Dorothy) Krueger, Mabel Krueger, Harriet (Austin) Hendrickson, Robert (Florence) Krueger, Marge (Raymond) Coenen, Carol (Harold) Mann, Vernon (Eva) Krueger, Donald (LaVerne) Krueger, Gordon (Joyce) Krueger, and Carol (Howard) DeGroot.
Private services will be held per Fern's request. She will be buried in Holy Martyrs cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund has been established in Fern's name.
Mrs. Pierquet's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the caregivers at Manor Care East for all their love and levity. They created a "second home" with Mom's favorites of afternoon Schafkopf card games, weekly live musicians, and roommate Sharon. Dr. Fagre and nurse Joyce Bishop went above and beyond in their medical treatment of Mrs. Pierquet.
